Based in Atlanta, Westover regularly speaks and leads trainings on gallery teaching, dialogue across difference, and team building for cultural institutions, non-profit organizations, religious groups, and companies, both in-person and virtually.

Westover has facilitated workshops and professional development sessions at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, National Docent Symposium, Peabody Essex Museum, RISD School of Architecture, Smithsonian Institution, Yale School of Architecture, and many more.

A life-long educator, Westover’s career began as a middle school teacher in Arizona. From there, he went on to train pre-service teachers in South Africa (via Fulbright) and in-service teachers in California, District of Columbia, Georgia, Massachusetts, and New York. Westover earned a Masters in Secondary Education from Arizona State University with teaching licensure.

Safra Center for Ethics Westover’s  research focuses on practical ethics, including negotiating conflict and navigating forgiveness, and he has taught graduate courses at CUNY Baruch and Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Westover earned a masters in religion from Claremont School of Theology and a PhD in education and ethics from Harvard University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

Prior to his current role at Atlanta’s High Museum of Art, Westover was the Keith Haring Director of Education and Public Engagement at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City. He previously held educational posts at J. Paul Getty Museum, National Museum of Wildlife Art, Smithsonian Institution’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and Phoenix Art Museum.
